Homework

Your Homework Viva

There is some homework for you to do.
This will involve you videoing yourself on your phone or other device, answering a vital question
​Set aside 4 minutes and read the Viva and look at the illustrations.
At the end of the 4 minutes, set your timer for 7 minutes and speak for the full 7 minutes on the topic asked.
​Then watch it back and see how the examiner sees you.
This is a self critique session.
​This is the single most important thing you can do at this stage to help you pass.
​This is not meant to be a test of your knowledge, but you will soon see yourself as the examiner sees you and know if you have gaps to fill.

• SEDATION
• INTUBATION

Prepare these for 4 patient types:

1. The Obese Patient
2. The Paediatric Patient
3. The Septic/Hypotensive Patient
4. The Intracranial Haemorrhage patient.

One of the most important reasons that delegates don't pass stations in the exam is...............

They don't go into enough detail.
It is not enough to say "I will secure the airway". That is not enough. You need to say how you will do with what medications and what doses etc... detail makes the consultant.
